3M Scotchlok UY Connector is a moisture-resistant, two-port butt splice connector utilizing insulation displacement technology (IDC) to join small-gauge solid copper telephone and communication wires without stripping. Key specifications include a wire range of 22–26 AWG (or up to 19–26 AWG for the updated UY2 version), a maximum insulation outside diameter of 1.52 mm (0.060 inches), and a factory-applied internal gel sealant to prevent corrosion.
